Newcastle man plans to help family and travel with big Lotto win

Robert Genosko, a father and grandfather from Newcastle, had to check on several devices to make sure he really won $101,904.60 in the August 28 Lotto 6/49 draw.

Genosko said his big win has left him both shocked and thrilled.

“I checked my ticket on the OLG app, and at first, I was confused by what I saw,” Genosko recalled. “I checked the ticket on multiple phones just to make sure. I was shocked and so happy.”

The first person he shared the news with was his wife. “At first, she thought I’d won $101, but after a closer look, she realized the prize was much bigger,” he said with a smile. “Winning is an incredible feeling—it’s shocking and unbelievable, but it could happen to anyone!”

With his winnings, Genosko plans to help his family and explore new travel opportunities. “I plan to enjoy every moment of life with my family,” he added.

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on King Avenue East in Newcastle.
